Pittsburgh DJ, musician and producer Buscrates creates grooves that oscillate between funk, boogie, jazz or hip-hop. He draws inspiration from the classic 1990s boom bap sound in hip-hop and the boogie and disco dance music of the 1970s. Acoustic drums, drum machines, synthesizers and vocoders are the ingredients of his jams.

Each month, TITLE TOWN turns up the heat with five hours of stone cold grooves – deep cuts and dance floor burners from the ‘60s and ‘70s funk, soul, disco, and beyond. This month, we’re turning it up another notch with Pittsburgh’s own DJ Buscrates bringing the funk, disco, and boogie all night long.

Buscrates will join us behind the controls and take you into the discoverse with an all 45 set of boogie, disco, funk, rare grooves and more. Residents DJ Gordy G. & J.Malls round out the night with top-shelf soul, deep funk, disco, and rare grooves—all on vinyl, all night long.

A DJ, writer, and vocalist with deep roots in the Burgh’s music scene, Sauce Queen is currently writing the definitive biography of funk legend Betty Davis and penned the liner notes for Light In The Attic’s 2023 reissues of Davis’s iconic albums. With a PhD in ethnomusicology and a crate full of wax, she brings deep knowledge and an undeniable groove to the decks—blending raw funk, global rhythms, and deep cuts with style and intention.

Residents DJ Gordy G. & J.Malls round out the night with top-shelf soul, deep funk, disco, and rare grooves—all on vinyl, all night long.
