The dance floor is calling, and we’re bringing ONLY top shelf sounds from all around – ‘60s soul scorchers, deep funk, ‘70s disco heaters, Northern Soul, Motown classics, and plenty of rare grooves to keep you moving all night. This one’s a milestone – come raise a glass, shake a leg, and celebrate 16 years of soul with us. We appreciate everyone coming out every month – and we need this connection and this community more now than ever.

Each month, TITLE TOWN turns up the heat with five hours of stone cold grooves – deep cuts and dance floor burners from the ‘60s and ‘70s funk, soul, disco, and beyond.
Bringing freshness to Pittsburgh’s clubs since 2009, TITLE TOWN stays true to its original sound, residents J.Malls & Gordy G. take you on a journey across the musical landscape – resurrecting deep soul, funk and disco cuts from the early-1960s through the late 1980s – mixing up rarities from Honey & The Bees, The Third Guitar, and Family of Eve with stone cold classics from Aretha, James Brown, Sister Sledge, The Spinners, Curtis Mayfield, Gwen McCrae and more.

IMPORTANT: TITLE TOWN is, and always has been, a 100% inclusive event. Harassment, disrespect or inappropriate behavior of any kind will not be tolerated. If someone makes you or anyone else feel unsafe or unwelcome, or if you witness unacceptable behavior, please report it to the venue staff immediately.

Back to the (old) school

TITLE TOWN Soul & Funk Party returns to Spirit with another edition of its vinyl-driven funky soul dance party on Saturday, September 6th, 2025 at 9pm.

Pittsburgh DJ, musician and producer Buscrates creates grooves that oscillate between funk, boogie, jazz or hip-hop. He draws inspiration from the classic 1990s boom bap sound in hip-hop and the boogie and disco dance music of the 1970s. Acoustic drums, drum machines, synthesizers and vocoders are the ingredients of his jams.

Each month, TITLE TOWN turns up the heat with five hours of stone cold grooves – deep cuts and dance floor burners from the ‘60s and ‘70s funk, soul, disco, and beyond. This month, we’re turning it up another notch with Pittsburgh’s own DJ Buscrates bringing the funk, disco, and boogie all night long.

Buscrates will join us behind the controls and take you into the discoverse with an all 45 set of boogie, disco, funk, rare grooves and more. Residents DJ Gordy G. & J.Malls round out the night with top-shelf soul, deep funk, disco, and rare grooves—all on vinyl, all night long.
